Animal Care and Use Committee

The ACUC recommends policies and procedures to the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies regarding care of experimental animals, allocations that will ensure accreditation of the University of Idaho as an agency using experimental animals, and criteria for the allocation of resources in the Laboratory Animal Research Facility. In addition, the ACUC performs, or delegates to other University committees, all functions for the University of an institutional animal care and use committee (IACUC) as specified in the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and the Public Health Service (PHS) Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals .
