Welcome to the
Student Grant Program!!

*Funding for summer 2008 proposals will be due Monday, March 31, 2008*

The Student Grant Program (SGP) provides funding opportunities for University of Idaho student-led research, scholarly, and creative activities. The SGP is funded from UI student fees.

Program funding is currently provided in the form of Research Grants and Dissemination Awards. Research grants are awarded to allow students the opportunity to fund and conduct their own projects. Dissemination awards may be used to publish, present, or otherwise disseminate student work.

The SGP funding process is designed to give students experience in the processes associated with professional-level grants. Applicants experience proposal-writing, external peer review of proposals, working with University financial technicians, presenting their work to the University, and providing final reports on their projects.

The SGP Committee responsible for making funding decisions and determining program guidelines is comprised of graduate, law, and undergraduate students, with one representative from each UI college.

Research Grants

The next research grant funding period will begin mid-May 2008. Proposals due Monday, March 31, 2008.

Students may apply for research grants in one of three funding categories:  $1500, $3000, or $5000. More funding opportunities are available for the $1500 category than the higher grant amounts. The SGP typically only awards one $5000 grant per semester. See the Proposal Guidelines for further details

Grant Proposals are due by 5pm Monday, March 31, 2008 in the Office of Sponsored Programs, Morril Hall 114. Please submit an electronic version of your proposal to
sgp@uidaho.edu

Notification of award recipients is anticipated for the beginning of May.

Dissemination Awards

The next round of Dissemination Requests will be due on February 19, 2007 in Morrill Hall RM 103. Students may apply for up to $1500 in reimbursement funds for the dissemination of their work.
